The tragedy here is that there is none The moment that ‘ruined your life’ has come and gone (so what’s taking you so long?)
So cry me a river You’re so destroyed Or open those veins Cause I’m getting annoyed
You wanna be dark and affected Spend your time making trivia epic
We spend so much time We spend our whole lives
Taking meaning To the meaningless Being character studies Instead of being us
We spend so much time We spend our whole lives
The one that ‘broke your heart’ Will become the one you haven’t given a thought in years That’s what’s driven me to tears
We spend so much time We spend our whole lives
Time, distance, and we can’t relate The rest, the rest is TV
Now that’s what’s sad Now that’s what’s sad Now that’s what breaks my heart
Explanation: I went to a show that featured one of the ‘big’ hardcore bands playing right now. It was so disheartening to watch people ‘go nuts’ for what I perceived as heartless coke-poetry put to fast drums. It seems to me that everyone wants to be more effected by things than they actually are, and that’s natural, but it’s insulting when you package that fakeness and sell it at $12 a head. I was so depressed afterwards I sold half my CD’s the next day.
